About Me

First and foremost, I am a wife and mother. 

We have a big family & over the years, we have learned to embrace the chaos. 

We share - a little bit too much sometimes.

(ask me about the time we had COVID for nearly 5 months straight) 

We laugh. 

We do our best. 

We have fun.

We get loud & act silly just for the fun of it. 

We make mistakes - because we are real! 

We forgive each other - for the most part. 

We give hugs & high-fives - sometimes to the face. 

But more than anything we stick together and 

THAT IS WHAT MAKES FAMILY!!!

I was born & raised in Indiana. I grew up in a big family myself with lots of siblings, 

cousins, aunts & uncles, & grandparents - we were a pretty tight-knitted bunch, & still are! 

That is where my love for photography stemmed from

 I have always found peace & pleasure in taking pictures. Ever since I held my first camera, 

good ol' disposable Kodak & Fujifilm! Snapping away at anything possible: 

flowers & insects

birthday parties 

while at the zoo 

ridiculously close-ups of faces or other goofy things

hanging with friends

in school or on the bus

Then taking the camera to CVS, Costco or elsewhere to get them developed & the anticipation of 

WAITING 

to see the outcome & don't forget the "negatives" that came with. 

Believe it or not, 

I still have negatives from back in the day. 

Oh, if I could go back to the 90's,

it's all very nostalgic for me!

Fast forward 20+ years & here we are in the digital world!

Not wanting to forget a single milestone of any sort (big or small), 

I have always tried to embrace & capture as much as I could that way I can look back & 

cherish the moment just as it was - 

for no two moments in life will ever be the same as it is right now. 

I was (and still am) the over the top "momtographer", but thankfully with the push of my 

very supportive husband, back in 2016, I  was able to adventure into the REAL photography world! 

My family dedicated so much time & energy towards helping my business grow, 

allowing me learn the logistics behind a professional camera.  

By being able to practice on my very patient family & friends, 

I was able to gain the momentum & knowledge to help me get where I am today.

I am forever indebted to them. 

For believing in me and always supporting me - and my crazy antics.

With AWOL Photography LLC, I have photographed many different 

subjects, scenes, & moments all over the country. 

With my most favorite still being my own children - 

who, by the way, have Photographer's Child Syndrome aka PCS - 

pretty sure this is a real thing! 

I love nothing more than to connect with my clients &

get to know them on a more personal level! 

Photography allows us to connect & look back at a moment

where time stood still!
